Due to the sensitive and crucial nature of our work, smoking of cigarettes or cannabis is not permitted at the sanctuary. Alcohol is permitted in moderation. If the volunteer spends time off the farm during days off, volunteer must return to the farm in a fit state to respond to any animal care needs. Please tick here to show your acceptance:

Many of our animals have come from situations of neglect and abuse. As a result some of them have conditions which result in hyper-sensitivity which can cause seizures. For that reason we cannot permit volunteers to party at the sanctuary. Leisure time needs to be pursued quietly and lights out is at 10.30 pm. Volunteers returning from a day off or night out must arrive quietly and not disturb the animals or resident humans. The residents’ homes are shared with the volunteers and we ask that volunteers respect this as a privilege, keeping any such shared spaces clean and tidy, treating property with care and being mindful of others. We are off grid so volunteers need to be careful with electricity, switching off lights that are not needed. We also require constant awareness around doors, gates and other entrances/exits as animals can enter houses or go into paddocks other than their own where they could be attacked by other animals.
